Project Summary

The former Mansfield Brewery site is currently empty and derelict with the exception of the Making It discovery centre at the front of the site.  It is has now been in administration for 10 years and the current market conditions have worked against a developer for the site coming forward.  Mansfield District Council wanted advice on what their role could be in driving forward the regeneration of this strategic site

Eye Role

We completed a review of the physical and planning constraints of the site.  We soft market tested some ideas and produced a phasing and disposal strategy should the council acquire the site.  We produced a high level delivery strategy for regenerating of the site. We are now working with a multi-disciplinary team comprising Glenn Howells Architects, Freeth Cartwright, the Millward Partnership and DTZ to undertake a detailed feasibility study and explore deliverable options for the site

Something clever about Eye's approach

We brought a fresh perspective and came up with an incremental development strategy, which we believe to be much more practical and deliverable than previous attempts to bring forward development
